Introduction to Tennis Betting
Tennis is not the most popular sport in the world by any means, but it is without a doubt a favorite among punters. Matches are fast-paced, hard-hitting,

and extremely intense for both players and fans. As exiting as the sport is, there is nothing like sharing a win with your favorite player. Whether you are new to the sport or a veteran tennis aficionado, betting on tennis at Viva Macau Sportsbook is a great way to get more involved with the sport.
If you are just getting your feet wet with the gambling aspect, this is a great place to start.
Although tennis wagering activity tends to spike around the Grand Slam tournaments, you can find Men and Women's professional tennis markets throughout the year at Viva Macau Sportsbook. Outright Betting and Matchups are by far the most common type of wagers placed on tennis matches, but you can also find some great value in being placed on one of our Exotic Singles markets.
If you place a wager on a particular player to win a tournament Outright, the bet is considered "All-in", so if your player withdraws before the event begins, your wager stands and no refund will be given. For Matchups, if a match ends without being completed, the wager will constitute "No Action" and your stake will be returned. Exotic Singles wagers are settled according to the statistics published on the official tournament website.
Changes in the playing surface, venue or from indoor to outdoor (or vice versa) will NOT prevent wagers from having Action.
All sports betting at Viva Macau Sportsbook is governed by Viva Macau's Sportsbook Rules. These rules provide specific information about the terms of settlement for Tennis wagers you place on our site. You will want to review those rules before you place any wagers.
Straight Wagers
Tennis, like Boxing and MMA, is a competitive sport played between individuals, rather than teams. Viva Macau Sportsbook offers Outright markets on most major professional tennis tournaments throughout the year as well as Futures markets on players to win the WTA Sony Ericson or ATP Cup Championship. These markets will be posted and updated on Tuesdays and matches are typically played on the weekends. The exception is the Grand Slam tournaments, where matches are played every day. Matchups wagers are only offered on the Grand Slam tournaments and the posting times can vary depending on the tournament structure.
Outright Bets require you to select the player that will win the tournament. The markets are priced for the player to win the tournament with no handicap or other adjustment applied to the tournament results. Outright bets offer odds on the top 15-25 tennis players in the event and a Field bet. The Field bet places you on any tennis player that does not have listed odds to win the competition. Typically, there can be great value found in taking an underdog on these tournaments and, as tennis fans know, it is not uncommon to see shocking upsets in this action packed sport.
If you have a good feeling about a particular player, but do not see enough value on the Outright to place a bet for them to win the entire tournament, you may consider placing a Matchup wager. These markets place one player against another in a straight head-to-head competition. Tennis tournaments typically feature best-of-three set matches, although the men play a best-of-five at the four Grand Slam tournaments. In women's tennis, for tennis Matchups to have Action, two full sets must be competed without either player retiring or being disqualified. If less than 2 sets are completed, all wagers will be considered void. Men's tennis functions the same way, except at the Grand Slam tournaments, where players must complete 3 sets for bets to have Action. If a player fails to start a match, all bets on that player or individual match will be void.
If a match is suspended after it has started and continues the next day, all bets (except combo bets) in that match will be considered void (e.g. a match is suspended because of technical issues or unpredictable problems such as a blackout). All bets will be considered valid if the match is resumed within 12 hours. Matches starting before the scheduled time are always void.
Exotic Singles
Exotic Singles in tennis are not as common as they are in football, basketball or baseball. Nonetheless, it is not uncommon for punters to have the opportunity to bet on how many Grand Slams a certain player will win during a current season.
Proposition bets can also create numerous betting options on tennis.
As Grand Slam tournaments progress into the latter stages, punters can often predict the winner of the first set, or perhaps, how many sets a match will last.
Combination Wagers
Combination wagers are bets in which more than one match or event is involved. Outright markets and Exotic Singles cannot be included in combinations. Matchup wagers, however, can be included in combinations such as Parlays, If Wagers or Reverses. If you are planning on taking action on two or more matches on a given day, this is a great way to increase your payout.
Tennis betting can make your favorite player's victory all the more sweet by putting a little change in your pocket. You can get a feel for the types of wagers offered at Viva Macau Sportsbook by Checking our Markets today.
"The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how good I get,
I'll never be as good as a wall."
