Viva Macau Poker - Ace to 5 Lowball
Ace to 5 Lowball Poker is the most common form of lowball poker at Viva Macau. In Lowball poker games the player with the lowest Poker Hand wins the pot.

Play works the same as 5 Card Draw but with players trying to make the best possible low hand. Ace to 5 Lowball also has three draws instead of one and four betting rounds instead of two.
Straights and flushes don't count so the best possible hand is A-2-3-4-5 regardless of suit.

Ace to 5 Lowball - Dealer Button
Ace to 5 Lowball Poker tables use the "dealer button" to track the dealer because the two players to the left of the dealer are required to bet and the player third to the left is the first to act in the first betting round.
At a new table the first player seated gets the dealer button. At the end of each hand the dealer button moves clockwise to the next player. This ensures that each player has the chance of playing early or late and that every player gets a chance to post the "blind bets".
Single Table Tournaments determine which player receives the dealer button first by dealing each player a single card. The player dealt the highest value card goes first. If two or more players have the same value card then they are ranked according to suit - high to low - spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs).
Ace to 5 Lowball - Blind Bets
Before any cards are dealt the two players to the immediate left of the dealer make forced bets, called blinds. The first person left of the dealer pays the small blind, and then the next person pays the big blind, which is double the small blind. These amounts are the table limits. The minimum bet in a hand is the amount of the big blind.
Ace to 5 Lowball - First Betting Round
Once all the players have their cards there is the first of 4 betting rounds and players have the 3 options: fold their hand, call the big blind (bet equal to the big blind) or raise (bet a higher amount). The first player to act is the player to the immediate left of the big blind. Play continues clockwise around the table until all players have acted.
Ace to 5 Lowball - Second Betting Round
The players who stay in the hand have a chance to change or improve their hand by discarding up to 5 of their cards and getting the same number of new cards back. They also of course have the option to keep all their cards in their hand.
There is a second round of betting where players have the option of checking, raising or folding.
Ace to 5 Lowball - Third Betting Round
The players who stay in the hand have another chance to change or improve their hand by discarding up to 5 of their cards and getting the same number of new cards back. They also of course have the option to keep all their cards in their hand.
There is a third round of betting where players have the option of checking, raising or folding.
Ace to 5 Lowball - Final Betting Round
The players who stay in the hand have a third chance to change or improve their hand by discarding up to 5 of their cards and getting the same number of new cards back. They also of course have the option to keep all their cards in their hand.
There is a fourth round of betting where players have the option of checking, raising or folding.
Ace to 5 Lowball - The Showdown
At the showdown the player with the lowest hand takes down the pot.
